Well we’re back from Gulfcoast Getaway. I’ve been trying to recover from the week. Amy and I both came back under the weather but all in all it’s nothing compared to the wonderful weekend we had. The time of worship was great as was the time spent listening to Randy Harris and Chris Seidman. I went down early on Wednesday with my friend Carson and he and I worked along with many others to set up and prepare for the weekend. It was a good time with both Cookeville friends and new friends alike. I can’t say that it was always relaxing. We were constantly on the go but through it all I believe it’s the one I’ve enjoyed the most so far. I spent the majority of the weekend filming and helping Carson with decorating. Amy had the wonderful opportunity of getting to shoot photography for the event. One minster that was working on behalf of the Christian Chronicle asked Amy for some pictures so that should be exciting to see. She was also able to make some good contacts with Building 429 and will have some of her photos on their myspace page soon. God was definitely good and gave the students a generous heart. More than $20,000 was given to various missions. Also Building 429 encouraged the students to sponsor children by World Vision. With anticipations of 35 at most 50 the students ended up sponsoring over 140 children. We hope to put some photos up soon from the event we’ve only got a measly couple of thousand pics I think. I hope I can get a change to post more later but for now I just wanted to say how great things were and how much we enjoyed the weekend.
